Pre-Op

   Here I am, several months pre-op, sitting, where else, at a restaurant table.
   As usual, I have a smile on my face and I’m always quick with a joke! Everyone thinks I’m funny and happy. The truth is, I am miserable inside because I’m killing myself with food, and can’t stop!  I had no hope!
   Now, I do have hope . . . Real Hope!  Through friends who have had the “Lap-Band” procedure and the stories of so many on the   “Lap-Band Bulletin

 Boards”, I know that miracles do exist for people like me.
   What may seem like a drastic measure to those who have never walked in my shoes, this is the beginning of a journey to a new and normal life, and a new relationship with food.

Still Losing

Here I am about 14 months out, down over 100 lbs. from my procedure, and 180 lbs. + from my all time high . . . and still losing!
     So what has changed in my life! The diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, asthma and crippling arthritis that I suffered with for so long, and that were killing me are now GONE!  The 18 different meds I took daily are down to only Lasix, for fluid retention, and some dietary supplements.  Today I can walk and do physical work pain free. I once again enjoy gardening, fishing and playing with my 10 grandchildren without discomfort. My band has saved and changed my life!
